Since its inception in 1971, TNH has been a cornerstone in blending traditional healing methods with modern medical practices, emerging as a leader in culturally sensitive healthcare. This initiative seeks to dramatically improve oral health outcomes and expand access to comprehensive healthcare services by integrating digital technology and enhancing workforce development. The project will implement three primary goals: (1) significantly expand access to comprehensive dental services, (2) elevate health education and outreach through innovative digital platforms, and (3) cultivate a highly skilled and culturally competent healthcare workforce. Key activities include recruiting essential dental staff to reduce wait times for services, developing and disseminating culturally tailored digital health education to increase health literacy, and providing specialized training for healthcare providers in cultural competency. The expected outcomes are a 50% increase in dental screenings and treatments, a 25% increase in community engagement through digital health platforms, and enhanced staff capability to deliver culturally attuned healthcare services. TNH will employ a robust evaluation framework to track progress towards these outcomes, ensuring a significant and sustainable impact on AI/AN health resilience in urban Texas. Through strategic partnerships and a deep commitment to cultural competence, TNH’s Native Public Health Resilience Initiative represents a scalable, impactful approach to reducing health disparities and improving the well-being of the AI/AN community in North Texas.
