The Wisconsin Department of Health Services Reproductive Health Family Planning Program Title X Project Abstract Summary The Wisconsin Department of Health Services (DHS) Reproductive Health Family Planning (RHFP) program has been providing assistance and support to Wisconsin local and county health departments since 1977 using state funding to serve low-income clients in need of family planning services. Over the past 44 years, the RHFP program has grown a network of high-quality, reproductive health family planning providers, which now provide Title X services in 36 of Wisconsin’s 72 counties. The Wisconsin DHS RHFP Title X program works with local health departments, community clinics, and their partners to build a statewide, comprehensive, service-ready, health care network. The Wisconsin DHS RHFP program recognizes the strong role that local public health departments and other partners play in providing and ensuring availability of high quality family planning services. Integrating family planning into public health helps connect individuals to comprehensive services already available through local health departments and other community health care providers. The RHFP program centers services in health equity and provides clinical, fiscal, and administrative oversite of clinics, offers training and technical assistance to help problem solve concerns related to reproductive health and family planning needs and, in conjunction with subrecipients, develops policy, procedures, and guidance, and serves as a state resource on reproductive health concerns.
