Ryan White Part B Supplemental - The proposed project will ensure access to comprehensive medical care and support services for low-income individuals living with HIV. Missouri’s coordinated system of care includes medication with the ADAP program, primary medical care, oral health, mental health and substance use treatment which improves the overall health of clients. In Missouri, 78% of people with HIV that are in care and receiving services, are virally suppressed. In addition, this project will address the unmet need for mental health services. Due to a lack of providers in rural areas, Ryan White Part B clients are not receiving important mental health assistance. Approximately, 10% of Ryan White clients are requesting mental health or substance use health care. Part B is proposing one statewide contract or multiple regional contracts with mental health provider(s) for either in-person or telehealth services for clients. The remaining funds will be used to supplement the Ryan White and ADAP funding for core medical and supportive services. Clients will be able to achieve and sustain viral load suppression with access to the coordinated system of care, which is a key component of continued wellness and preventing HIV transmission.
