MCADSV CDC RPE 2024-2025 - Montana Coalition Against Domestic and Sexual Violence Project Abstract April 2024 The Montana Coalition Against Domestic and Sexual Violence (MCADSV) submits this application for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), National Center for Injury Prevention and Control, Rape Prevention and Education: Enhancing Capacity for Sexual Violence Prevention Across State and Territory Sexual Assault Coalitions (NOFO CDC-RFA-CE-24-0068). MCADSV is the CDC designated state sexual assault coalition for the state of Montana. MCADSV was a prior grantee of the CDC under the DELTA prevention project. MCADSV is aligned with the statement of purpose in the funding announcement. We believe this funding opportunity will allow us to begin to address these issues in a meaningful way. The funding is very limited, so our ability to fully address the purpose will be impacted by that limitation. But we will do what we can with the resources provided. It is always worth noting that Montana is a significantly large geographically, low-population density state with a great deal of distance and limited organizational/service provider capacity. A statewide project is often not realistic unless the funding is appropriate for the need. We will need to focus our intention and activities on the things we can address with the resources provided. We plan to meet the following requirements under this funding including: 1) build infrastructure for sexual violence prevention; 2) work with state health departments to develop or enhance a state action plan; 3) implement community and societal level violence prevention strategies that promote health equity; 4) use data to inform prevention action. According to the funding announcement, our outcomes for this funding period should include a decrease in sexual violence perpetration and victimization rates at the state level and a reduction in disparities in sexual violence by addressing associated inequities in social and structural determinants of health. We commit to accomplishing these outcomes to the best of our ability in the time allowed. The project will be accomplished with a team approach. All current MCADSV are well suited to administer this project and have extensive history and work experience on these issues. We will utilize existing partnerships and develop new ones as necessary. We will collaborate with the state RPE administrator as we are able.
