The Arizona Department of Health Services (ADHS) is committed to addressing sexual violence in Arizona by facilitating and monitoring the implementation of sexual violence (SV) prevention programs, practices, and policies across the state. The four (4) defined strategies in the notice of funding opportunity (NOFO) will support ADHS’ ability to build upon the work, expertise and lessons learned from the current CDC RPE cooperative agreement and supplemental CDC-funded Health Equity projects, especially the 2023 Health Equity Assessment completed by the University of Arizona. ADHS seeks to advance health equity and prevent sexual violence in Arizona by strategically addressing social and policy factors in priority populations in partnership with current and new multi-sector partners. ADHS will leverage and update its statewide SV assessment and action plan published in 2019, fund community- and societal-level interventions across the state, build the capacity of partners to shift social norms, policies, and practices that prevent sexual violence in Arizona communities, and evaluate programmatic impacts.
