The Rhode Island Department of Health (RIDOH) is applying for CDC-RFA-PS24-0047, Integrated HIV Surveillance and Prevention Programs for Health Departments, to implement a comprehensive and integrated HIV surveillance and prevention program. RIDOH’s purpose is to prevent new infections, improve health outcomes for persons living with HIV infection, including achieving and sustaining viral suppressions, and reduce related health disparities in alignment with federal strategies. Project outcomes will be tracked to meet the required strategies and activities, and will include increasing HIV screening, increasing linkage to HIV medical care and early initiation of antiretroviral therapy, increasing linkage to all prevention services, improved cluster identification, improved use of HIV surveillance data, and increased local collaboration. RIDOH will continue its strong surveillance program and innovative prevention program with community engagement throughout the project period.
