Strengthening Vaccine-Preventable Disease Prevention and Response - Purpose: The Arizona Department of Health Services (ADHS) Bureau of Immunization Services (BIZS) is committed to improving public health outcomes by enhancing immunization infrastructure, expanding vaccine access, and strengthening data quality. This project aligns with CDC strategies to reduce vaccine-preventable diseases, improve equity, and build public trust in immunization efforts. Outcomes: The project will: ● Improve vaccine management and provider support to ensure efficient delivery. ● Expand vaccine access through targeted outreach and mobile units in underserved areas. ● Enhance data quality with improved record-matching and tracking for informed decision-making. ● Strengthen partnerships with trusted messengers, tribal organizations, and healthcare providers to promote vaccine equity. ● Boost vaccine confidence through tailored messaging and educational resources. ● Provide technical assistance and resources to immunization partners for improved service delivery. ● Improve emergency response readiness for outbreaks and public health emergencies. Key Project Strategies: 1. Infrastructure & Management: Manage vaccine procurement, distribution, and compliance visits to ensure safe handling and appropriate administration. 2. Increase Access: Expand partnerships and deploy mobile vaccination units in underserved areas. 3. Promote Equity: Engage trusted messengers, tribal organizations, and local providers to improve vaccination rates in underserved communities. 4. Data & Evaluation: Enhance the Arizona State Immunization Information System (ASIIS) to improve data accuracy and tracking. 5. Vaccine Confidence: Partner with stakeholders like TAPI and AzAAP to develop targeted messaging campaigns promoting vaccination. 6. Partner Support: Provide training, technical assistance, and resources to support immunization partners statewide. 7. Emergency Readiness: Develop plans to coordinate rapid vaccine deployment during outbreaks or emergencies. By implementing these strategies, ADHS will strengthen Arizona's immunization program, reduce vaccine-preventable diseases, and improve access for all residents.
