Collaboration - The Center for Health Training (CHT) of Austin, Texas, in partnership with San Antonio College (SAC) Disability Support Services¿ Office /Student Counseling Services and the Women¿s Center & Adult Re-Entry Program located in San Antonio, Texas will deploy a minimum of 6 student peer educators to provide campus-based HIV prevention education to women enrolled or preparing to enroll at San Antonio College Evidence-Based Intervention ¿ CHT piloted a 6-hour gender and culture specific HIV prevention intervention called Women 4 Women which was originally offered as four 1.2 hour and one 2-hour workshops offered in both a classroom setting as well as a breakout session for the campus¿ annual Women Empowered (WE) Conference. The curriculum provides participants opportunities to discuss HIV/AIDS and other health issues within the larger holistic context of health including physical, social, mental, emotional, spiritual and sexual health needs of women. The content has been modified to include additional information on HIV/AIDS transmission. Goals & Objectives CHT and the GSU staff have agreed that the two primary goals of this project are to effectively address the HIV information needs of students, and build peer support for learning how to communicate and implement self-protective strategies to reduce the possibility of HIV transmission. ¿ Goal #1 seeks to address the information needs of students as they relate to HIV transmission modes, the physiology of women¿s anatomy and why that contributes to women¿s HIV vulnerability, other STIs and their co-relation to HIV, protective barrier methods, and other psychosocial dynamics that may contribute to HIV susceptibility. The Women 4 Women intervention incorporates small-group discussion and social skills-based modeling, as well as opportunity for participants to practice what they have learned. ¿ Goal #2 moves beyond information provision and seeks to increase awareness and peer support for
