Strategic Prevention Framework - Partnerships for Success - Delaware (SPF-PFS-DE) - The State of Delaware is facing a significant public health challenge with the rising incidence of substance use disorders (SUDs) following a period of improvement in the state's substance use trends. The COVID-19 pandemic has compounded these challenges by disrupting social, economic, and healthcare systems, leading to a fragmented substance use prevention infrastructure. Despite the limited resources, Delaware is at the brink of readiness to rebuild the state's fractured prevention landscape exacerbated by the pandemic. The aim of the SPF-PFS-DE project is to build a statewide, comprehensive, collaborative, data-driven, and sustainable prevention infrastructure committed to fostering healthy and resilient individuals, families, and communities grounded in reducing risk factors, strengthening protective factors, building resilience, and promoting well-being. The SPF-PFS-DE project is a multi-faceted approach that aims to build partnerships between community providers and coalitions with K-12 and higher educational institutions; support educational institutions (K-12 and higher education) to increase their capacity to implement and deliver effective prevention programs and strategies focused on risk and protective factors; develop strategies and implement plans to enhance the capacity of the state subrecipients, prevention providers, SPF-PFS recipients, and prevention coalitions to increase data-sharing, resource development, strategic planning, coordination, and workforce development; and to fund at least two existing and/or established community coalition to implement prevention strategies and efforts in identified priority areas. Through funding for community coalitions, enhanced coordination between local and state-level stakeholders, and capacity-building efforts, the SPF-PFS-DE project aims to create a sustainable, unified prevention system across Delaware, ultimately improving the health and well-being of its residents.
