Abstract Cape Assist proposes the Strategic Prevention Framework (SPF) Project. The SPF project will prevent the onset and reduce the progression of substance misuse and its related problems while strengthening prevention capacity and infrastructure at a community level. In doing this it will address alcohol consumption, marijuana use and prescription drug misuse among persons aged 9-34 in Cape May County, NJ. Goal 1: Utilize the SPF process to create a data driven comprehensive plan that addresses area prevention needs, including subpopulations vulnerable to behavioral health disparities. • Objective 1: Middle and High School Student Surveys. • Objective 2: Young Adult Survey • Objective 3: Bi-Annual Data Meeting Goal 2: Build prevention capacity throughout Cape May County by training community partners on the SPF, evidence-based practices, the connection between trauma and substance use disorders; as well as, providing ongoing technical assistance to infuse prevention practices into community partner programming. • Objective 1: SAMSHA Evidenced Based Practices Training • Objective 2: SAMSHA Evidenced Based Practices Implementation • Objective 3: Certified Prevention Specialist (CPS) Certification Program Goal 3: Increase community understanding of the link between trauma, mental health, and substance misuse to reduce the stigma associated with asking for help by utilizing evidence-based prevention messaging and strategies. • Objective 1: Mental Health First Aid Training • Objective 2: SAMSHA Opioid Overdose Prevention Toolkit • Objective 3: SAMSHA Drug Free Workplace Toolkit • Objective 4: Resiliency Toolkit • Objective 5: AlcoholEdu® Project Strategies • Collaborate with epidemiologist to collect baseline community level data to determine progress toward addressing the SPF priorities. • Enhance the prevention infrastructure to ensure services reach minority youth and young adults aged 9-34 and their families. • Provide community partners with trainings on evidenced based prevention practices (EBP) • Provide technical assistance opportunities for community partners to implement EBP
