Portable Practical Educational Preparation (PPEP) Inc. is applying on behalf of the Community Prevention Coalition Drug Free Communities Project in Amado to deliver the CPCDFC STOP Act project with the goal of reducing and preventing underage drinking among youth ages 12-20 in the rural Amado area (includes Amado, Arivaca, Tumacacori and Tumacacori-Carmen). The target area for the project includes a community designated as as risk, low income and rural. Approximately 50% of the population is of minority status (Hispanic). The CPCDFC STOP Act Project will utilize the strength of its Coalition capacity to collaborate with multiple sectors (including law enforcement) from the local community to develop and implement multiple strategies including parent and community education, the engagement of law enforcement efforts to reduce access to alcohol by youth, heightened enforcement of the social host ordinance and increased knowledge and skills of youth, parents, families and community to achieve its goals. The target # of people reached through the project interventions is 4,681.
