Using the Strategic Prevention Framework and the strategies for community level change the coalition will work together with community partners to reduce substance abuse in Tioga County. Through needs assessment data targeting risk factors which need to be reduced and protective factors that need to be increased in the communities. The project has the potential to serve 48,000 people that live here in Tioga through various strategies focusing on youth, parents, law enforcement, schools, and other community sectors. The main objective of this projective is to increase the community's capacity in working together to prevent substance abuse, and decrease reports of substance abuse among youth as determined by Prevention Needs Assessment Survey data, focus groups data, community surveys, and other important data which would indicate a decrease in the effects of substance abuse in our communities.
