The NorthCare Mobile Crisis and Outreach Teams project will support and restore the delivery of clinical services that were impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic and effectively address the needs of individuals with serious mental illness (SMI), serious emotional disturbance (SED), and individuals with SMI or SED with co-occurring substance use disorders (COD). The project will 1) provide a mental health response for referrals from law enforcement, 2) provide communitywide outreach efforts to engage underserved communities in mental health treatment, 3) provide mental health supports and resources for NorthCare CMHC staff, and 4) provide enhanced training to CMHC staff to address COVID-19 mental health issues such grief, trauma, loneliness, and isolation. It is anticipated that 1,000 individuals will be served over the two-year project. Oklahoma and Logan Counties will be served by the grant project.
