Diabetes is one of the most common diseases within AI/AN populations. AI/AN people are two times more likely to develop diabetes than any other race. Redding Rancheria, a federally recognized tribe, seeks funding through the Department of Health and Human Services’ Special Diabetes Program for Indians Grant - 2023. Funding from this grant is intended to provide diabetes treatment and prevention programs for all of our AI/AN patient population. Redding Rancheria is dedicated to provide the highest quality of health care which includes diabetes treatment and prevention services for our AI/AN population. To do this, we intend to focus on Tobacco Screening and Cessation for our 2023 Best Practice. We will also focus on Physical Activity Education and Eye Exams as our audit items for improvement. Finally, Redding Rancheria plans to continue its successful Activities/Services with our CGM Program, Glycemic Control Group, and prediabetes education program.
