It is our hope that with this funding we can provide our community with two educational events. We hope to provide diabetes prevention and management education to all community members that are either at risk or already have diabetes. We will provide free A1c testing to any patient with a BMI > 30. Yakutat Community Health Center will provide education on exercise, nutrition, and weight management. By having community events we are hopeful that we will reach patients that may not feel comfortable in a clinical setting.
