Planned Parenthood Mar Monte (PPMM) requests $107,623 in Title X funding to expand its existing family planning and related health services into Carson City, NV, and the surrounding rural counties of Lyon, Douglas, and Storey. PPMM has been a provider of low-cost family planning and health services since 1963 (since 1971 in Nevada) and is the largest Planned Parenthood affiliate in the United States. The purpose of the PPMM Satellite Services program is to expand access to PPMM’s education and clinical services by extending traditionally clinic-based services to locations that are convenient, safe, accessible and familiar to target populations that do not have easy access to our fixed site health centers. Satellite Services remove barriers to family planning services, both real (transportation, childcare, and cost) and perceived (fear of leaving familiar neighborhoods or fear of medical system).
