Family Planning services in Washoe County, Nevada to include the cities of Reno and Sparks. - This proposal for Title X Family Planning Services Grant was developed based on application instructions. The Washoe County Health District’s Family Planning Sexual Health Program (FPSHP) is applying for these Competitive Grant Funds in order to maintain program services. The FPSHP has been a grantee of the Federal Title X Family Planning Program since its inception in 1970. Services are provided on site at the Washoe County Health District (WCHD) in Reno, Nevada. The FPSHP provides services to individuals of childbearing age on a sliding scale fee schedule, which includes the following: routine gynecological exams, cervical cancer screening, basic infertility, preconception and related health services, diagnosis and treatment of minor gynecological problems, contraceptive counseling and services, pregnancy testing and counseling; testing, counseling, and treatment for Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs), and education about sexual responsibility and the importance of early detection of STIs. The body of this document includes a Project Narrative which includes a Community Needs Assessment. The Community Needs Assessment outlines a description of the service area including geographic and demographic data. Needs, barriers, and high priority populations are also addressed. Successes related to current service provision are noted in the Project Narrative. The Project Narrative outlines current FPSHP operations as well as work plans that address goals and objectives for competitive grant cycle 2022-2027. Title X Statute, Regulations, Legislative Mandates, and how the proposed project aligns with OPA program priorities is addressed throughout the proposal. Attachments are also included with supporting information contained in the body of the Project Narrative.
