Comprehensive Family Planning Services in Southeastern Pennsylvania - Leveraging almost fifty years of experience in administering the Title X Family Planning Services Program for the 5-county Southeastern region of Pennsylvania (SEPA), AccessMatters has framed a 5-year strategic vision that focuses resources on those in greatest need of Title X’s unique protections and services. AccessMatters is a public health organization that focuses on sexual and reproductive health, with a deep commitment to access and equity. Its work plan embraces opportunities that will expand AccessMatters’ Family Planning Network and increase client utilization of services in the SEPA region. AccessMatters will continue to work efficiently and effectively with the Office of Population Affairs (OPA) to demonstrate the tremendous impact and value of the national Title X program in reaching people who have been historically underserved, marginalized, and adversely affected by persistent poverty and inequality.
AccessMatters’ Network of 19 sub-recipients delivers family planning and related preventive health services at 77 service sites, reaching an average of 96,699 clients each year (for a total of 483,495 clients during the project period) throughout SEPA. By 2027, AccessMatters expects to increase the number of clients served by up to 7% (up to 1.5% annually) and to add new sub-recipients and partners to expand the reach of the Network and access to family planning services. Additionally, AccessMatters intends to work with agencies to provide Patient Navigation services, linking individuals in need of family planning services to our Network. AccessMatters will also establish a Community Advisory Board (CAB) to lead, advise, and guide all activities.
Based on a comprehensive needs assessment of factors contributing to family planning related health disparities across its service area, AccessMatters will implement a complement of strategies over the next 5 years that result in increased utilization of family planning services. AccessMatters’ overarching goal is to ensuring ease of access to high quality, equitable, compliant family planning (FP) and related health services through significant community collaboration, capacity building of providers, and implementing routine quality assurance measures in order to improve sexual and reproductive health outcomes for the people of Southeastern Pennsylvania, especially those who have been historically underserved, marginalized, and adversely affected by persistent poverty and inequality. Given its experience, forward looking leadership, and longstanding commitment to Title X’s vision, AccessMatters is confident it can accomplish the goals set forth in its work plan in compliance with OPA standards and in service to Title X’s mission.
