Nevada Primary Care Association (NVPCA) is applying to continue and expand on its existing Title X program, providing women, men and families the ability to choose when or if they want to have children. In addition, Title X family planning services will empower individuals to space their children resulting in healthier birth outcomes, a much-needed health outcome as Nevada had a 6% increase in low birth weight of live births in the last two years. NVPCA?s current service area includes the cities of Reno-Sparks (Washoe County), North Las Vegas-Las Vegas-Henderson (Clark County) and Carson City (a consolidated municipality). With this funding, the service area will be expanded to include the rural communities of Jackpot, Carlin, West Wendover, and Elko (Elko County) located in the Northeastern corner of the state where access to quality family planning services is limited. Currently, Nevada Health Centers (NVHC) provides Title X services in Elko County. NVPCA will consolidate and administer NVHC?s Title X funding during the upcoming project period (see the attached Letter of Commitment from NVHC).The current goal of NVPCA?s Title X project, Reproductive Education and Care in Community Health Homes (REACCHH), is to provide funding for family planning services to Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs) in order to continue and expand implementation of comprehensive family planning services alongside primary care and behavioral health services. REACCHH aims to improve the health and well-being of low-income, underserved Nevadans by offering teens, women, and men of reproductive age a health home for all their family planning, primary, and preventive care needs. NVPCA proposes to serve 8,192 unduplicated, low income Title X clients under the 2019 Title X program through the FQHC subrecipient agencies identified above. The following narrative details the need for funding to continue and expand NVPCA?s Title X program and demonstrates NVPCA?s exper ience, knowledge, and ability to monitor performance for compliance and high quality efficiently and effectively.
