Essential Access Health champions and promotes quality sexual and reproductive health care for all. For 50 years, Essential Access Health has served as the primary Title X Family Planning Services Grantee in California since the program was established in 1970. Currently, Essential Access Health oversees the largest and most diverse Title X provider network in the country, contracting with 74 sub-recipient agencies in 38 out of 58 California counties. This robust network of Title X sub-recipient agencies?including 366 clinic sites, formalized partnerships with non-traditional referral sources, community groups, and faith and community-based education and outreach organizations? currently serves more than 1,000,000 clients annually, representing more than 25% of the Title X clients served by the program nationwide. Essential Access Health is submitting this application for $22,000,000 to support the delivery of voluntary, quality family planning and related preventive health services to over one million low-income women, men and teens. A broad range of acceptable and effective family planning methods and services will be offered, including fertility awareness-based methods (FABM, previously referred to as natural family planning) to both prevent and achieve pregnancy, infertility services, and services to adolescents across California. As a long-term Title X grantee with a positive track record administering the program in the state of California since the program was established, Essential Access Health is well-positioned to efficiently operate and successfully grow a Title X program that continues to meet the needs of California residents. Essential Access is equipped with a robust infrastructure designed to meet the size and scope required to meet the need of more than one million individuals who may otherwise lack access to these essential services. Essential Access Health?s Title X model promotes optimal health outcomes by emphasizing the integration of quality family planning with primary health care services that reflect the preferences, needs and values of the client.
