Abstract The National Hispanic Medical Association (NHMA) is pleased to submit its for renewal application for the OMH-MP-CPI-21008. The NHMA project, Hispanic Leadership Fellowship HFL, supports the Office of the Assistant Secretary for Health/Office of Minority health in its efforts to develop a U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Minority Leaders Development Program. The overall goal of the HLF is to develop and implement a fellowship program that provides training in health equity and leadership sills-building to early career individuals to improve the health of racial/ethnic minority and other disadvantaged populations. The HFL will assist HHS in increasing its overall representation of Hispanics within the department, especially in key executive leadership positions. The terms Hispanic and Latino are used used interchangeably. The NHMA plans to develop and implement HLF with the following 1)National advisory committee 2) fellowship logistics including host site orientation, fellows selection, placement and stipend; housing; work experience and supplemental curriculum on health equity and leadership skills-building 3) fellows recruitment plan; 4) monitoring and tracking system for evaluation; and 5) dissemination plan. NHMA will collaborate with the National Forum of Latino Health Executives and the Latino Caucus of the American Public Health Association to develop the HFL. NHMA staff will work with OMH staff and evaluation team to facilitate work experience and knowledge about health equity at HHS, mentoring with HHS Hispanic leaders, and supplemental learning activities and to determine the impact of the activities on outcomes and goal to advance health equity and how to use date from the program implementation and CLAS Standards.
