Congressionally Directed Spending for Construction Projects - Sunshine Community Health Center is requesting $1 million to add 5,965 square feet and renovate 1,100 square feet of the existing 6,850 square foot clinic in Willow, Alaska. Once complete, the renovated clinic will be 12,815 square feet. The expansion will add nine exam rooms, a procedure room, six provider offices, a medical assistant station, an office, conference room, storage space, and building mechanical area in the attic. The renovated portion of the project will create a behavioral health suite with two rooms and enhanced measures to protect patient privacy, add one restroom, create a disinfectant room, expand the reception area, and remodel the dispensary, janitor closet, and dental office. The building will comply with all accessibility requirements of the American with Disabilities Act and local building codes. Sunshine Community Health Center has selected the design-bid-build process, and will enter the design phase in September 2023. Construction is scheduled to begin in July 2024 and will take 18 months to complete. The overall project budget is $4,313,039.
