The space is approximately 7,200 square feet. The majority of the space was built in the 1950s and is original to the Hospital and the space is antiquated. Additionally, the flow and layout of the clinic is not conducive for patients, especially those who are wheelchair bound or physically disabled. The goal is to renovate the space and create a new flow that will serve both patients and clinical staff. The funds will provide the project the necessary Fixtures, Furniture and equipment (FFE) for the space after renovation for the culmination of the final suite to be completed. This will include, but not limited to, new reception desk, waiting room seating, exam tables, computers and printers. We believe that a public hospital in a poor and working-class area with one of the busiest outpatient clinics to be equal, in safety, comfort, and medical efficiency, to other healthcare facilities in suburban areas. Equity in is an important component of equity in all of health care, and is thus in the interest of the tax payer.
