SHIFT - "Skills for Helping Families Thrive" is part of the Healthy Marriage grant funding and provides relationship skills classes for couples, using the CoupleTalk and Third Option curricula. - Relationship Research Foundation will implement the SHIFT Project providing evidence-based relationship education through the 12-hour CoupleTalk curriculum and supplementary Third Option workshop. The project will serve adult couples across six California counties (Orange, San Diego, Imperial, San Francisco, San Mateo, and Marin), delivering services at 285 locations through partnerships with Catholic dioceses and Protestant churches. Services include communication skills training, conflict resolution instruction, and emotional intimacy development, supported by coaching, childcare, and light meals to enhance participation. The project will strengthen marriages and improve family stability for 1,620 couples over the five-year grant period, addressing areas with high divorce rates.
