Wisconsin State Health Insurance Assistance Program - The Wisconsin Department of Health Services (DHS) will work in partnership with the Wisconsin Board on Aging and Long-Term Care (BOALTC) and contracted partners to fulfill the goals and objectives of the State Health Insurance Assistance Program (SHIP). The overarching goal of this project is to provide statewide outreach, education, and assistance to Medicare beneficiaries and their families and caregivers about Medicare and related health care options. The objectives are: 1) provide accurate, objective, and comprehensive information and assistance; 2) promote awareness, knowledge, and visibility of the program; 3) build our organizational capacity through effective management and coordination of team members; 4) develop innovative strategies to better serve Medicare beneficiaries; and 5) to support operational excellence by aligning program goals, expectations, policies, and procedures. Anticipated outcomes include: 1) maintain or increase the number of people reached through counseling, group outreach, and education activities in all five performance measures; 2) post at least ten Wisconsin SHIP social media posts; and 3) share at least two Medicare resources with network partners. The expected products include: 1) standardized counselor training and certification materials; 2) consumer-oriented materials about Medicare topics for use in local outreach and education; and 3) website and social media information about Wisconsin SHIP services.
