An overall standard of success established by the Tribal Council is that a system to improve the economic status of our current tribal members and future generations be created. The beginnings of increased Tribal economic power must be established and clearly moving forward to bring self-sufficiency to the Tribe and its members. These objectives will develop the mechansims necessary to fulfil the top mission of the Tribe in accordance to our Strategic Plan "Enhance the economic and educational status of our membership" The guiding philosophy is to utilize the government to make strides in gorwing our own people into the areas that the Tribe is expanding into in order to gain maximum benefits for our people from our activities.
The completion of the above objectives will have several impacts to the organization and the overall community. First, the formal development system will help ensure the highest quality employees of the Tribe, minimizing the effects of staff turnover, and the productivity level of the government will be greatly strengthen allowing us to constantly move our quality employees into higher paying positions in our newly created business enterprises while simultaneously increasing the staff levels of our own Tribe. Secondly, the development of the leadership pipeline will increase the individual tribal member?s skills in the areas needed by the Tribe both increasing the likelihood of them gaining employment and increasing the Tribe?s pool of qualified applicants for our positions within the government and our businesses. Third, the focus on leveraging our current systems will help grow the revenue streams for the government creating job opportunities for members within the pipeline. Fourth, the development of Tribally-owned businesses will both increase the job opportunities within our community and widen the economic base of the Tribe which will in turn stabilize the government and be a giant leap toward self-sufficiency.
