The Winnebago Tribe of Nebraska has been awarded a Grant for Coordination of Tribal Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) and Child Welfare Services to Tribal Families at Rick of Child Abuse and Neglect. The overall goal of the Winnebago TTCW Project is: Better outcomes for the children and families served by the TANF, Child and Family Services and Preserving Native Families Programs for the Winnebago community. The following areas have been identified in need of assistance: Relationships and Communication, Information Sharing, Staff Training, Screening and Assessment, Case Planning and Case management, Coordinated Delivery of Services, and Information Systems. To address the needs, we will increase service coordination with community partners to provide resources and expertise, improve outcomes for program participants, and build effective partnerships through inter-agency agreements, MOUs, referrals, and project implementation. The Project will allow us to cross train of our staff to provide enhanced skills in data systems, referral protocols, policies and procedures, joint case plans and management, and to appropriately incorporate culture in the delivery of services to children and families.
