The Family Success Network is a pilot project in Ohio serving three Appalachian counties with high rates of certain parental behaviors through a multi-tiered variety of community-based services. Tier I services address an issue permeating all of Ohio that many services and supports are offered by community-based service providers, but either families are unaware of those services or referral sources refer families to child welfare rather than community support providers. Tier I services are Information and Referral services. Families willing and interested in additional services not provided within the community will be offered additional services in Tier II through a Family Coach, who will provide multiple consultations, parent education (Triple P Levels 3 Discussion Group and Level 4 Standard), financial literacy, and concrete supports. For families interested and exhibiting additional needs, Family Coaches will work to engage the family further through Tier III intensive home based services where families will establish a Family Success Plan, Universal Screenings, and basic life skills training, in addition to Tier I and II services. The project aims to address existing gaps in communities throughout the target implementation area.
