Through enhances services and positive peer leader development, our goal is to reduce the tolerance for dating and domestic violence in the street culture and increase safety for runaway and homeless youth, now and in the future. This will be accomplished by increasing shelter and on-site advocacy options, providing a catalyst for culture shift at the street level, and creating structural changes that will support this work. Addressing the issues of adolescent dating vioelnce and homeless youth collaboratively will enable us to comprehensively respond, thereby increasing the effectiveness supporting safety and stability for youth. Our collaboration will build relationships capable of leveraging necessary funding, community support and capacity to sustain a strong commitment to violence prevention. This project will build upon the significant achievements and lessons learned from our current grant RHY-DV collaboration grant for cross-training and protocol development, as well as other county, state and federal efforts funded through the Office on violence against women and the Family and Youth Services Bureau.
