Ryan White Part B Supplemental - The State of Connecticut Department of Public Health (herein referred to as “the Applicant”, “the Department”, or “DPH”) is applying for HRSA-025-048: “Ryan White HIV/AIDS Program Part B States/Territories Supplemental Grant Program” in the amount of $9,000,000. The applicant plans on utilizing these funds to support ADAP treatments. There has been a rise of new HIV diagnoses in the last three years reported. This is not in alignment with the National HIV/AIDS Strategy or Ending the Epidemic goals. The Care Continuum in Connecticut has room for improvement, with only 70.4% of all People With HIV (PWH) being virally suppressed. The Applicant recognizes not all PWH may qualify for Ryan White services. Clients in the Ryan White program historically have over 90% viral suppression. Linkage to care also has a gap, with only 77% of PWH receiving medical care. To address the gaps in viral suppression and linkage to care, prevent an ADAP waiting list, and prevent reduction of Ryan White Part B services, the Applicant is requesting $9 million.
