Proposed Project: The Rural Hospital Stabilization Technical Assistance Center (RHS-TAC), proposed by the Rural Health Redesign Center Organization, Inc. (RHRCO), is a strategic response to the Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) HRSA-24-082 Rural Hospital Stabilization Pilot Program put forth by Health Resources and Services Administration - Federal Office of Rural Health Policy (HRSA)- (FORHP). The RHS-TAC aims to bolster financial sustainability and enhance the service lines of rural hospitals. This initiative leverages the substantial infrastructure and insights gained from RHRCO's administration of successful programs like the Rural Emergency Hospital Technical Assistance Center, the Pennsylvania Rural Health Model (PARHM), and the Northern Border Region Technical Assistance Center. The RHS-TAC provides in-depth, customized technical assistance to rural hospitals. This assistance aims to enhance and expand new service lines that address local medical needs, increase service volume and revenue, and ensure the continued availability of healthcare services in rural areas. By addressing local healthcare needs, the program seeks to ensure that vital health services remain available within rural communities, thus mitigating hospital bypass and enhancing patient care delivery. The impact of the program on rural communities is significant, as it ensures the availability of vital health services and enhances patient care delivery, thereby improving the overall health of the community. The RHRCO has extensive experience in providing technical assistance to rural hospitals, specializing in areas such as fiscal management, operational efficiency, strategic planning, and clinical service expansion. The organization will utilize its established network of nationally recognized rural hospital experts, including staff with almost a century and a half of hands-on rural hospital operations and healthcare experience. Additionally, the organization partners with best-in-class vendors and technical experts to ensure comprehensive and high-quality technical assistance is delivered to meet the unique needs of each participating rural hospital. Through its extensive experience and robust infrastructure, the RHRCO is uniquely positioned to support rural hospitals in identifying and implementing sustainable service lines, thereby reducing hospital bypass and improving financial stability.
