2024 Hospital Preparedness Program Cooperative Agreement - This opportunity is a continuation of funds intended only for recipients previously awarded under EP-U3R-19-001 Cooperative Agreement. This notice of funding opportunity is for the continued purpose of strengthening and enhancing the capabilities of state, local, and territorial health care systems to respond effectively to evolving threats and other emergencies. The new 2024-2028 FOA provides clear expectations and priorities for Maine to achieve that are focused on the measurable outcomes by implementing multi-year priorities with regards to planning, drills, and exercises over the next five-year project period. Maine will work to ensure increased sustainability of the Healthcare Coalition of Maine by revising our governance structures to better align with existing regional or district preparedness coalitions; we will focus our resources to enhance our partner engagement processes to include populations that have been disproportionately impacted by health disparities within the health care system, focusing on those work plan activities that will ensuring the continuity of the health care service delivery through a combination of risk assessments, training, and exercising. The final measure of our successful outcomes will be the ability of our health care system to be resilient, have well trained personnel, and have the space, systems, and resources required to support patient movement and delivery of services before, during, and after emergencies that exceed the day-to-day capacity and capability of the health care system’s capabilities. T Thank you for your care and consideration of our cooperative agreement application for 2024-2028. Please contact me if you have any questions or concerns. Sincerely, William Jenkins, HPP Director Maine Center for Disease Control and Prevention 286 Water Street, 5th Floor Augusta, ME 04333
