USET Dental Preventive Clinical Support - Since 2005, the United South and Eastern Tribes (USET) has operated its Dental Support Center (DSC) to enhance oral health services for federally recognized Tribal Nations served by the Indian Health Service (IHS) Nashville Area. The DSC promotes oral health equity by increasing access to prevention and treatment while acting as a trusted partner. Located in Nashville, Tennessee, the DSC supports Tribal dental clinics by enhancing clinical services, strengthening prevention efforts, and developing the workforce. Our work includes site visits, needs assessments, and tailored health promotion initiatives. We provide culturally relevant oral health education, participate in community health fairs, and engage with local populations to promote oral health awareness. Through regular needs assessments, technical assistance, and collaborative health planning, we take a proactive and responsive approach to supporting Tribal communities. This project aims to expand support for Tribal dental programs through collaborative activities. With DSC funding, we will improve access to oral healthcare, enhance health outcomes, and provide technical assistance across the IHS Nashville Area, supporting IHS's mission to elevate the health of American Indians and Alaska Natives. We also emphasize professional development by promoting continuing dental education (CDE) opportunities and ensuring access to portable dental equipment for remote areas. Community engagement is vital to our work. We participate in health fairs, distribute oral hygiene supplies, and create culturally relevant education materials to empower communities to prevent dental disease. This project reflects our commitment to partnering with Tribal Nations to eliminate oral health disparities and ensure comprehensive, quality dental care for all communities in the IHS Nashville Area. By investing in prevention, education, and support, we aim to achieve lasting improvements in oral health outcomes
