Using a mixed-methods approach, we will examine data and identify emerging challenges from both the primary data (HRSA’s Performance Improvement Measurement System [PIMS] as reported by grantees), documents review, secondary data, and qualitative data gained in targeted data collection activities. To capture ongoing feedback and ensure the priorities of stakeholders are included in our approach, we will establish an evaluation stakeholder advisory panel comprised of data-savvy grantee organizations selected by HRSA and/or RCORP-TA staff, consumers, representatives from the RCORP COEs, and others as recommended by HRSA. Foundational to our approach is a human-centered design (HCD) approach, meaning that those ultimately benefiting from the evaluation results and RCORP funding (e.g., rural communities) will be engaged from project outset in identifying targeted evaluation efforts of priority to them, data that will support th
em in building out successful consortia and programs, and data visualizations captured in user-friendly dashboards that facilitate RCORP success. Dynamic, engaging dashboards and frequently-updated data briefs and visualizations will support grantees in their sustainability and community engagement efforts, assist them in identifying emerging behavioral health trends, and capture HRSA’s tremendous investments in rural behavioral health.
