Maine WIN wi
ll be led by MPCA with support from Maine’s State Office of Rural Health, Maine’s community college network, John Snow Int’l and additional training partners, and reflects the urgent need for this project in a rural state. MPCA has 40+ years of experience working with health centers to deliver high-quality, low-cost, patient-centered care to rural Maine. Maine WIN, alongside training partners selected to participate based on longstanding relationships and proven effectiveness, will implement activities relevant to Track #1-Community Health Support, focusing on recruitment, training, retention and career ladders for Community Health Workers (CHW), Medical Assistants (MA), and Dental Assistants (DA) in rural Maine. The program objectives align with Rural Public Health Workforce Training Network (RPHWTN) goals and address Maine’s workforce need. The target service area is the 39 rural FQHC site locations in Maine. FQHCs are essential as Maine’s rural health safety net, and communities depend on them.
