Austin Healthy Adolescent Project (AHAP) utilizes a multi-level approach to engage youth through replication of evidence-based programming (EBP) in the District 4 (D4) community within Austin, Texas. AHAP focuses on three aspects of the child's life, themselves, their families and their communities. By engaging each of these entities, AHAP will ensure the information youth are gaining through EBP implementation is supported, celebrated, and sustained in their daily lives. By utilizing this approach AHAP will meet 2 main goals, the first being to reduce teen pregnancy and STI's for 1,350 District 4 (D4) youth between 2023 to 2028 through effective prevention programs. The second goal is to advance health equity for D4 youth and families through supportive services that include parent/caregiver engagement, mental health services, and youth leadership development.
