Touchstone aims to provide comprehensive, evidence based adolescent health curricula to address a myriad of protective and risk factors including sexual health awareness/education, improved mental health/emotional regulation, healthy dating relationships, improved family functioning and increased family communication, and other factors that increase healthy decision making and increased locus of control. Touchstone will saturate the Glendale and Alhambra region of the Phoenix metropolitan region that has disproportionate risk factors and adverse health outcomes including higher risk for teen pregnancy, STIs and risk behaviors that keep them from achieving optimal health. This will include direct curriculum implementation for youth and parents, professional development training for youth serving organizations and schools, sharing resources through health fairs and resource lists/asset mapping, improved connection to mental health and substance abuse treatment, annual professional conference, and massive social media and public service announcements. This will be guided by a local community coalition and youth leadership council.
