Rimrock Foundation, founded in 1968, is the primary treatment center which serves five treatment courts in Yellowstone County and is requesting SAMHSA funding for True North Reentry Project. These funds will utilize two Licensed Addiction Counselors, a Case Manager, and support staff to serve 40 participants by end of year one, 60 participants in year two, and an additional 60 by end of grant funding in year three for a total of 160 individuals. The intent of this project is to demonstrate the efficacy of ASAM 2.5 gender specific Day Treatment, evidenced based ancillary groups, Medication Assisted Treatment, Opioid Overdose Prevention, and provide a safe housing component while reducing the demand for jail beds, days of incarceration, and reduce the involvement of substance abusers in the criminal justice system. True North's desire is to place case management services around individuals reentering society and networking with other community based services through transportation, daycare, communicable disease testing and smoking cessation. The type of funding being sought by Rimrock's True North Project is for treatment services for offenders who are adult (18 and older) non-violent individuals where the primary reason for being in the criminal justice system is related to significant substance abuse and in some cases have an existing co-occurring disorder. To ensure the proper population being served is highrisk/ high-need, the LAC will administer a biopsychosocial evaluation and the RNR Tool assessment which will be undertaken on each referred offender. The evaluation will guide the development of treatment and placement services to the offender assuring individualized care is provided along with the correct range of needs of the individual. Rimrock understands the importance of addressing disparities in our clients therefore will be adding culturally competent and gender specific groups.
