Pasco County Adult Drug Court Expansion - Dependency - Pasco County Florida Board of County Commissioners (Pasco County) in partnership with the Sixth Judicial Circuit, the Pasco County Adult Drug Court, WestCare GulfCoast- Florida, Inc. (WC-GCFL) and Eckerd Community Alternatives (ECA) is proposing a drug court enhancement. The proposed enhancement focuses specifically on adult drug court offenders (males and females) who have substance abuse dependence requiring placement in outpatient services, who may have a mild mental health disorder, who are charged with drug related offense, and have active child welfare (dependency) cases. The proposed gender specific, specialty track expansion project will extend this service to 120 offenders (40 per year over the grant period). The population of focus is in need of substance abuse treatment, mental health treatment, related recovery services, and wraparound services for reunification to 1) Ensure successful community integration, 2) Decrease the rate of recidivism, and 3) Support ongoing parental success. In partnership with the Pasco County, the Sixth Judicial Circuit, and the Adult Drug Court, WC-GCFL will provide intensive outpatient case management services including individualized, gender specific, and evidence-based substance abuse treatment, mental health services, and needed relevant linkages to community-based social services to 40 adults annually and 120 adults during a 3-year grant period throughout Pasco County, Florida.
