Piedmont Judicial Circuit Drug Court Service Enhancement - The Piedmont Judicial Circuit is requesting funds from BJA and SAMHSA to enhance and expand services provided through the Jackson County Felony Drug Court. This program will target nonviolent offenders for the purpose of assisting them with successful rehabilitation from the use of drugs and/or alcohol. The intent of the drug court will be to increase the number of participants, expand existing drug testing and treatment services, enhance court and treatment operations through additional staff development and training programs, expand offender management by improving the overall quality of case management and supervision, and enhance available recovery support services and HIV/Hepatitis C testing and pre/post-test counseling services. Approximately 85 program participants will be served with SAMHSA funding each year of the grant for a projected total of 152 individuals served over the lifetime of the project. Approximately 45 program participants will be served with BJA funding each year of the grant for a projected total of 90 individuals served over the lifetime of the project. The proposed evidence-based practices include: the Matrix Model of Intensive Outpatient Alcohol & Drug Treatment; Moral Reconation Therapy; Supported Employment; Integrated Dual Diagnosis Treatment; and Celebrating Families. The proposed program objectives include building and maximizing capacity, targeted research-based and data driven-services, enhanced recovery support services, cost savings, and tracking client data for evaluation services.
