New Hope-A collaboration and capacity building program - ABSTRACT Recovery Network of Programs (RNP) will lead a collaboration with the Mid-Fairfield AIDS Project and Optimus Health Care to expand evidence-based practices (EBPs) of Motivational Interviewing, Seeking Safety, and SISTA, to engage and retain 225 African American and Hispanic/Latina women living with, or at risk for, HIV/AIDS and/or HCV in Bridgeport and Norwalk, CT over 3 years. The program will provide culturally relevant, substance use, co-occurring substance abuse/mental health/trauma treatment, and primary and specialty health care. The partners have worked diligently to develop a holistic continuum of care that encompasses primary, specialty, and chronic care for health and mental health needs, including HIV/AIDS and HCV. To offer more African American and Hispanic/Latina women these services, we must enhance our ability to reach, engage, and retain them, which is this project's focus. New staff, including Peer Recovery Support Specialists, Outreach Specialists, a Nurse Practitioner, and a Program Coordinator, will utilize the EBPs to empower African American and Hispanic women to increase safer sex practices, provide access to culturally appropriate, woman-centered substance abuse, mental health and primary health care, and to address the impact of violence and trauma on increased risk of HIV infection and substance abuse.
