20th Judicial Circuit Adult Drug Tx Court Co-Occurring Disorders Enhancement Project - The 20th Judicial Circuit Adult Drug Treatment Court (ADTC) proposes to provide mental health assessments and enhanced treatment services for participants with co-occurring disorders; provide enhanced treatment services for victims of trauma; enhance case management and ADTC operations to better accommodate persons with co- occurring disorders; and conduct a process and outcome evaluation. The ADTC is a program of the 20th Judicial Circuit Court, a court of general jurisdiction, located in Ottawa County, Michigan which can be best described as a rural area. The ADTC anticipates that this grant award will directly impact 75 new participants (25 new participants per year), and the 30 participants engaged in the ADTC at the time this grant is awarded. The ADTC targets adult, non-violent felony level criminal offenders with diagnosed substance abuse disorders (alcohol or drugs) who may or may not also have mental health disorders. To be eligible for the ADTC a participant must be screened for a substance abuse disorder and qualify for treatment at the level of Intensive Outpatient or higher according to the American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM). The ADTC adheres to the 10 key components of drug courts and incorporates evidence-based practices into substance abuse treatment services. Goals and objectives for this project are: (1) Provide mental health assessments and enhanced treatment services for participant's with co-occurring disorders; (2) Provide enhanced treatment services for victims of trauma; (3) Enhance case management and ADTC operations to better accommodate persons with co-occurring disorders and improve social functioning; and (4) Conduct a process and outcome evaluation.
