The Brevard County Board of Commissioners will expand and enhance the Adult Drug Court. The funding requested will support treatment and recovery support services, professional training and development, and information technology for program monitoring and evaluation. Our priority population for service expansion is indigent offenders who have been sentenced to community supervision and are referred to Drug Court following a technical violation. To enhance services, Drug Court will implement systematic assessment of offenders' risk for drug use and drug-related crime and will individualize treatment planning in accordance with the assessment results. Revisions to our service delivery protocols will be facilitated and monitored through the exclusive use of electronic records for real-time data entry, analysis, and reporting to quickly gauge and respond to observed outcomes. We will reinforce treatment with a continuum of recovery supports. Activities will include transportation to enable participants to meet treatment commitments and be linked to supportive community-based services, incentives for achieving treatment and recovery milestones, family engagement in treatment and recovery to the extent possible, and case management to assist clients to develop individual networks of community-based recovery support. The current linkages and relationships formed between the community and the existing Brevard County Adult Drug Court Team will provide an excellent foundation to support the addition of our enhanced tier to the program's treatment options. We will measure overall success by the number of participants who are restored to productive, healthy lives in the community.
