ADVOCATES' AYER CONCORD DRUG COURT PROGRAM (ACDCP) SMART PHONE PROJECT - The Ayer Concord Drug Court Smart Phone Project is a three-year proposal to provide expanded care coordination using Health Information Technology, specifically the CHESS application for smart phones by drug court participants. This Technology is proposed to respond to the needs of 120 male and female high risk and high need, nonviolent offenders, age 18+, residing within the Ayer Concord Drug Court's (ACDCP) jurisdiction, assessed as having an alcohol and/or other drug (AOD) problem. The proposed project seeks funding to purchase smart phones, equip them with the Comprehensive Health Enhancement Support System (CHESS), a promising and emerging practice, and distribute those phones to 40 Drug Court participants each year of the three year grant. The goal of this project is for program participants to actively use the application to create a recovery support community through peer support and resource sharing. To date, participants in ACDCP have completed a 4 month pilot study using this Health Information Technology with beneficial results.
