The Clinic for Education, Treatment and Prevention of Addiction (CETPA), Inc., the only licensed and accredited Latino service provider of substance abuse and mental health treatment in the State of Georgia, proposes to leverage technology to enhance and expand the capacity of substance abuse treatment to serve persons who have been underserved because of lack of access to treatment in their immediate community. Currently, structured bilingual, culturally appropriate and evidence-based services for Latinos and their families are non-existent within the State of Georgia. This gap that impacts our primary audience (Adult Latinos) includes issues such as transportation, childcare, an inadequate number of substance abuse treatment providers in Latino communities, and/or financial constraints. CETPA proposes to use "Virtual Reality Clinics" (VRC) -which would combine the Internet, web-based videoconferencing services, smart phones, and behavioral health electronic applications (e-apps) to expand and enhance our ability to effectively communicate with persons in treatment and to track and manage their health to ensure the treatment and services are available based on their needs. CETPA proposes to provide culturally and linguistically appropriate services through a VRC to 20 clients in year 1 and 30 clients each in years 2 and 3, for a total of 80 unduplicated Latino adults for the life of the grant by providing VRCs in both rural and remote, underserved geographic areas in Georgia in addition to our current existing program in Norcross, Georgia.
