In an effort to assist individuals and families living in fifth (5th) Congressional District of Kentucky that suffer from substance abuse issues, UNITE will provide a one-time limited payment for substance abuse treatment at residential facilities. As of March 23, 2010 Operation UNITE's Treatment Voucher Program has received 4,213 applications. UNITE intends on assisting at least 180 voucher recipients enter residential substance abuse treatment programs though this funding. UNITE, seeks to fight the drug plague by expanding drug awareness and education programs to keep people from using drugs and coordinating drug treatment and outreach programs for those who are already addicted.
