Brevard County Juvenile Drug Court Expansion of Substance Abuse Treatment (ESAT) Program will assist juveniles with Substance Use Disorders (SUD), and with SUD and co-occurring mental health disorders and their families/primary caregivers, or wherever appropriate, identified significant others/mentors or other appropriate adults. The program will assist in accessing a seamless continuum of Outpatient services utilizing the A-CRA/ACC evidence-based practices to yield maximum treatment, recovery support service and HIV rapid testing opportunities in Brevard County, FL. The ESAT Program will also provide 3 treatment locations and imperative transportation in Brevard County where it geographically spans 81 miles long from tip-to-tip; therefore, removing enormous obstacles for indigent youth. By collaborating with Specialized Treatment, Education and Prevention Services, Inc. (STEPS), the Brevard County Juvenile Drug Court team anticipates having access to approximately 100 juvenile clients, 80% of which are diagnosed with mental health disorders, substance abuse disorders or are dually diagnosed. This program will be achieved by utilizing culturally competent methods, with the primary purpose of increasing the numbers of juveniles entering into treatment and ultimately the recovering community.
