The project will focus on western Massachusetts where the agency and project partners provide community-based treatment and social support services. The target area has cities with highest rates of juveniles committed to the juvenile justice system in Massachusetts and the vast majority of the target juveniles are extremely poor and come from minority, urban communities. The project, entitled the Western Massachusetts Offender Reentry Program, will have staff trained and certified in Global Appraisal of Individual Needs (GAIN I-Full) and Assertive Continuing Care (ACC) through Chestnut Health Systems.
