The Pima Prevention Partnership (PPP) proposes to generate positive treatment and housing outcomes with 350 under-served homeless co-ed youth, 14-21 years, with substance use/mental health problems. PPP will engage youth in six months of service using evidence-based treatment (A-CRA/ACC, MET/CBT-5, Intensive Co-occurring Treatment), case management, and support. The Successful Treatment to Assist Youths (STAY) program will outreach to homeless youth at eight partnering sites including: homeless and transition shelters, group homes, independent living centers, schools, and the juvenile court. Many of these youth will have been chronic runaways. It is anticipated that, as a result of the STAY program, youth participants will achieve the following measurable benefits: 70 percent of youth will have accessed the ancillary services listed in their recovery plans; 90 percent of youth will have stabilized their housing situation (six months after enrollment); 80 percent of youth will have indicated a reduction in substance use (GPRA/GAIN); 70 percent of youth will have reflected improvements in well-being (GAIN); and 60 percent of youth will have reduced their risky sexual behaviors (GAIN).
