COPE Community Services, Inc. (COPE), in collaboration with multiple community-based organizations in the area, developed a strategic response to a continually emerging problem of drug addiction in the Tucson, AZ area. The project, Unity Program, is designed to expand and enhance treatment in the area. Treatment will be embedded in an organized community-based recovery-oriented system of care. The goals of this project are to: 1) deliver a continuum of treatment and recovery services using a recovery-oriented system of care approach; 2) increase access and availability in conjunction with improving quality and intensity of treatment and recovery support services to the population of focus seeking recovery; and
3) monitor process, evaluate effectiveness, sustain effective programs/activities, and improve or replace those that fail. The project will provide outreach, case management, Matrix Model OP Treatment, and recovery support services. Services are flexibly staged and may be provided prior to, during, and after treatment. Recovery support services may be provided in conjunction with treatment and also as separate and distinct services to individuals and families who desire them to be provided by community organizations that they know and trust.
